My Brainchild

Ok, “brainchild” is a stretch, but it is my first true attempt at making some money.  Check it out:  Clay Poker Chips - A Buyers Guide A thread on another forum inspired the concept.  The website uses Wordpress (Although it doesn’t look like it!) and the PHPBay plugin to automatically embed the auctions into my site.  I’ve hired out some of the content and will be adding some more soon. That said, I do think that the content needs to be good.  Buying poker chips is actually a difficult task if you want to find good ones.  I know a lot about them, and therefor, I will have something of value to bring to the table.  This knowledge will be a big part of this campaign taking off.

Something tells me that I should get into the habit of posting things here on a regular basis.

I actually enjoy reading other people’s blogs.  (It’s a secret love much like my appreciation for Britney’s early works.)  However, most people with blogs that I know update them with little regularity.  While I check my mailbox daily, this lack of updates makes me only check out these blogs whenever I realize I haven’t done so in a few months.

But…There are two blogs, both frequently updated, that I check whenever I’m looking to spend 5 more minutes in front of the computer.

While I only have my own experience to go on, err… on which to go, (I normally correct grammar only in my head, but this is the internet, after all.) my guess is that other people do the same.

Now assuming that a regularly updated blog like this one (so far…) gets the average reader to visit semi-daily and a once-in-the-summer-not-quite-so-often-in-the-winter blog gets a visit once per month, I think it’s still safe to assume that I still have zero readers.

Uh…What is it?

Today, it’s the norm to have a job. To most, being employed has a positive connotation, whereas being unemployed is paramount to being lazy and unproductive. (Heaven forbid!)

Being the fairly average citizen I am, I have a job. I’m an accountant. I keep track of the money that my lawyer employers bring in, but I can do that in two words: A lot. The rest of the time I push papers, mice, and keyboard buttons. Someday, I also aspire to have 2.3 kids and a dog.

That said, being normal is not my aim. If I could find a way out of being employed without a way out of eating three meals (and an afternoon snack) daily, I would do it!

And that’s why I’m here. With some ingenuity and hard work, I’m positive that there are is money to be made on the internet.

Now, if I can manage overcome my inner flake and make this happen, I’ll avoid becoming the man in the Cadillac with the size 48 suit on his way to the office to oversee the all of the ever important never ending paper pushing.

My buddy Dave is my sponsor (emotionally) in this mission. We’re going to make sure that we don’t become this over-satisfied fat man. For the time being, we’re both employed. My goal is to make sure that’s not true a year from now.
